The flames of the campfire lit up the little clearing in the woods, close by was the ruin of a sin'dorei house, fire had ravaged it long ago, the farstrider gazed upon those ruins with a strange sense of longing, her lips parted in a deep sigh, "...better times", she whispered to herself. Shandriel took the thin iron rod which she had placed over the fire, and looked at the rabbit she had roasted on it, it was well done, just as she liked it. A few feet away a deep growl sounded as the great ghostpaw lion Sicora raised its head. " you have already gorged yourself on a deer, this is mine! go back to sleep you glotton", the farstrider grinned as she saw the look her feline friend gave her before it went back to sleep. Shandriel bit into the rabbit with gusto, it had been a hard day and she had not realized how hungry she was, a notion about how unladylike her manners where went through her mind, but it did not take hold, because to her she was first and foremost a farstrider, who had little time for such *useless* gestures. When finally her hunger was sated, she cleared up the mess and prepared herself for sleep, but sleep would not come, she found herself gazing into the dying embers of the campfire... thinking back, back to a time where this house still stood and a family lived there...

Shandriel Rowanmantle was born in western eversong, in a small house close to Fairbreeze village. Her father was emploted in the army of Quel'thalas as a armsman, and spend most of his time stationed in human lands...somewhere in a place called Brill. Shandril's mother was a skilled herbalist and provided herbs for many people in that area where they lived. Shandriel had 4 siblings 2 brothers and 2 sisters of which she was the youngest.
Things seems quite idyllic for the family until the time of the scourge and the betrayal of the alliance, where Shandril's fathers(for reasons of his own) fled with his family to the city of Stormwind, thusly turning traitor to his own people. This fact weighs heavily on Shandriel, as she got older a thought formed in her mind that she had to return to sacred Quel'thalas, and somehow atone for the great dishonor her family had weighed on her. As far as is known she snug away in the night, so that her father and her brothers could not prevent her from leaving. She turned up at the gates of Silvermoon a few years ago, starved and fatigued beyond words, she stumbled into the arms of a guardian and passed out, not knowing what to do the guardian gave her over to the closest officer he could find, who just happened to be a farstrider.

Shandriel trained long and hard after she was accepted into the farstriders, often she was the only one on the practice field after dark, alone but driven. When she now faces the alliance in the many battles her superiors send her into, she is no longer the silent observing woman that she is in "civilian life" she become a coldhearted killer, blue eyes flashing with malice, often laughing cruely at her foe before plunging her sword down, thus ending life. Some say she is trying to prove something, others say its the hate of her family's betrayal and her pain will only end when her life do.

One day while hunting in the Eversong close to her old home, Shandriel met a lone wanderer who struck up a casual sonversation with her, he was frank and to the point and seemed to have alot on his mind, not unlike Shandriel herself. They talked for a long time, and the wanderer told her he belonged to a group of people called the Seekers, and from what he said.. that which they sought, she sought also..tranquility...finally. She realized that among those people called Seekers she might finally feel at home, so when he offered to initiate her to this group she was happy, and for the first time in a long long while, Shandriel smiled brightly. The wanderer was none other than the ranger Yngdir, a person Shandriel owes much indeed.
